FAQ
In general
We understand that purchasing furniture online can raise many questions. That's why we've tried to answer the most frequently asked questions we receive as thoroughly as possible.
Can I see your products i real life?
Yes! You are more than welcome to visit our showroom at:
Trekronergade 100
2500 Valby
We usually have most of our products on display for you to see. However, please give us a call at +45 36 15 10 20 before you travel from distant areas to view a table, a chair, or any other exciting items.
How does delivery work?
In the Copenhagen area, the tables are delivered by a carrier who will place the table exactly where you want it. Outside the Copenhagen area, the tables are delivered in a custom-made wooden crate that can be easily unscrewed. This ensures the highest level of protection.
Can you make products in other types of wood?
No, we cannot. The Noyer table is a piece of furniture made from walnut, designed with attention to every single detail. Therefore, we do not make the octagonal Noyer table in other types of wood or with different legs. If you have other requests for a table, feel free to contact us, but as a rule, we make tables in walnut.
If you have other wishes for a table, you are welcome to contact us, but we basically make tables in walnut.
Dining tables and coffee tables
Here at Noyer, we make many tables and receive many questions about them. This is completely natural when you are about to purchase a table that is meant to last for many years. We have gathered some of the most frequently asked questions here.
Which sizes can you make the tables in?
All our tables are made to order in the dimensions that the customer desires. The size we can make the tables depends almost solely on the length of walnut planks we can source. However, we have delivered several conference tables over five meters long.
We do not make Noyer’s octagonal dining table in lengths under 180 cm. The custom-designed legs require the tabletop to be at least that long to ensure there is enough “air” around each leg. If you are looking for a smaller dining table, consider our desk, which can also serve as a dining table.
Can you get the tables in special heights?
Unfortunately, that's not possible. The dining table measures 74 cm to the top of the tabletop, which is standard height. The coffee table measures either 46.5 cm or 36.5 cm to the top of the tabletop. The reason we cannot vary the height of the tabletop is due to the custom-designed legs – they are a complex design that requires all angles to be precisely accurate.
Can I determine the shape of the tabletop?
Both the dining tables and coffee tables from Noyer are octagonal with opposing angles cut at 45 degrees. However, they are not cut from a fixed template, so each table varies slightly in shape—though always within the strict framework of our proud design. We invest significant time in assembling the planks for each table, crafting the shape based on the unique characteristics of the wood. While we are always eager to accommodate your needs and preferences, it's also important that you trust our expertise in the process—we have crafted many of these tables with meticulous care.
What width of planks do you use in the tables?
We receive the wood in 'random widths', meaning they come in different widths. The widest ones are around 25 cm, and we do not use planks narrower than 12 cm.
How are the legs positioned?
Since all tables vary in shape and size, it also means that the placement of the legs is never exactly the same. It's a matter of stability and functionality. We always position the legs to maximize legroom while ensuring the table is as stable as possible.
Is the dining table stable?
When making a dining table with only three legs, it's natural that stability is something that raises questions. And it's precisely stability that was the main reason why we developed the wooden legs that our tables now come with. Even with the slim profiles that we use, the table has very high stability, which we are very proud of. This special construction is the reason we can keep the legs so slim, giving the table its almost floating appearance.
Are there knots in the table top?
There are no knots in our tables. However, we make sure to use as much of the wood near the knots as possible, as it's in the area around knots that the grain can be really curly and beautiful. We aim for an extremely high finish on our furniture, which is why we do not use planks with knots. Instead, we allow a bit of sapwood in the tabletop. Sapwood is the light (outer) part of the tree trunk, and we love the effect it adds to the tabletop's appearance.
Can the table be delivered with the legs unmounted?
Yes, they can. The legs are quite simple to assemble after delivery, and it's impossible to do it wrong.
How does the table react to wear and tear?
Noyer's tables are not varnished, but instead, they have undergone several oil treatments, making them quite resistant to everyday use. They can withstand a lot (that's the beauty of walnut), and if you ensure to treat it with the accompanying oil, your table will only become more beautiful over time.
How to maintain the table?
The table should be treated with the provided oil occasionally, but other than that, no special maintenance is required. An unlacquered table is best cleaned with just water and possibly a little soap. Avoid strong cleaners, alcohol, or similar substances as they are designed to dissolve grease, and on raw wood, the oil's natural grease provides protection against discoloration and the like.
