In the chair, there's almost a preference for craftsmanship over design, and the idea itself stems from an extreme love for challenging the strength of wood - a quality that recurs in many of Noyer's designs.
The dining chair was originally made as a prototype in connection with the TV program Denmark's Next Classic (Danmarks Næste Klassiker), where the final result after three weeks became a somewhat different and extravagant dining chair. This model is based on the basic structure of the DNK chair, but here it's cut down to the bone.
It offers surprisingly high seating comfort, while also being a very lightweight chair that, in terms of construction, exploits the extremely high strength that triangles provide. This allows for the use of very slender and lightweight profiles while still maintaining high strength. That's the thing about wood - if used correctly, its strength is unparalleled.
The dining chair comes in three models. In one model, the seat is made of cold foam upholstered with Hallingdal fabric, which is a durable material of high quality. The second model features a cold foam seat upholstered with black aniline leather, which is a type of leather that patinates incredibly beautifully. The third model has an unpadded seat in walnut, where the beautiful grain patterns truly come to life.
