Behind the scenes – Noyer's design and craft process

Bag kulisserne – Noyers design- og håndværksproces

At Noyer, every piece of furniture is the result of a dedicated journey from concept to finished product. In this article, we take you behind the scenes and show how our designers and skilled craftsmen in Copenhagen work together to create unique, handcrafted walnut furniture.

The Idea Phase: From Sketch to Concept

It all starts with a sketch. Our designers draw inspiration from nature, Scandinavian minimalism, and timeless aesthetics. Here, the fundamental lines and proportions that express both functionality and beauty are defined. This creative process helps shape the identity of every Noyer piece.

Material Selection: Why Walnut?

Walnut is not chosen by chance – it is at the core of our concept. The deep, warm wood with its unique grain pattern gives every piece a distinctive character that is both robust and aesthetically appealing.

The Craftsmanship Phase: Production in the Workshop

In our workshop, raw materials are transformed into finished furniture through meticulous craftsmanship. Every detail is carefully conceived and executed – from the precise cutting to the fine surface treatment. Our skilled carpenters use both traditional techniques and modern precision to ensure that no piece is identical and that quality is maintained at the highest level.

Quality Control and Finish

Before a piece of furniture leaves the workshop, it undergoes strict quality control. Here, we ensure that the surface treatments, whether oil or lacquer, meet our high standards. The final detail – a unique code that tells the story behind the product – gives each creation its personal touch.
